Port de Pollensa is ideal if you are looking for a small town by the sea, with most amenities available throughout the year, accessible to the airport and city of Palma and remote enough to feel entirely separated from the loud and rowdy south of the island.
This area in the north of Mallorca has a particular appeal to the British market, and English residents have been living and working in the town for many decades. There are British-run businesses of every kind thriving in Port de Pollensa, catering to an increasingly more upmarket clientele, as the town and surrounding countryside becomes more exclusive and house prices go up.
Few can come away unaffected by the magnificence of the vast horseshoe Bay of Pollensa. It is serene, safe and protected from the wild northern winds, and lends the town a certain allure which is unmatched elsewhere.
There are 5 main residential communities in and around the town of Port de Pollensa. Here is a brief summary of the different locations, distance to beach and shops and general state of the complex.
Belleresguard
Belleresguard is the most exclusive apartment complex in town, and one of the most highly sought after property markets on the island. It is located 200 m away from the beach and the Pine Walk on the north side of the Bay of Pollensa. The properties in this area are built with meticulous attention to detail and the highest specifications, affording luxury living in a unique and charmed part of Port de Pollensa.
Siller
Siller is more residential community than complex, off from the main road, behind the Duva hotel, some 15 minutes walk to the town centre. It is a flat area full of gardens and modern villas, very family-friendly and relaxed. This is the perfect area to choose if you are looking to settle here with young children.
Gotmar
Gotmar is a quiet, residential area of privately owned properties set on the hillside overlooking Port de Pollensa. It is an up market area with some wonderful luxury real estate, often commanding spectacular views over the town and Bay of Pollensa. Located at the entrance of Port Pollensa, it takes approximately 15 minutes' to walk into the town centre, but the need to walk or drive is compensated by the bustle-free tranquillity of living a little out of town.
Llenaire
Llenaire is the name of the fine white sandy beach on the furthest southern stretch of the Bay of Pollensa, before the road turns off towards Alcudia. It is a windy and slightly quieter part of the bay with pine trees reaching down towards the shore, and you can often see the swathes of bright coloured kites flying from the kite surfers. Properties in this area tend to be very near the beach but much further away from town that other residential communities around Port de Pollensa.
El Pinaret
El Pinaret is a peaceful, leafy, residential area below Gotmar, about 500m from one of the best beaches in Port de Pollensa and well located for shops, cafes and restaurants. It is a shady area with extensive pine trees, as its name suggests, and highly attractive as a location for a permanent or part time residence in Mallorca.
