Coves of Cala San Vicente - Mallorca North

The Coves are called Cala Barques (meaning Cove of the boats) from its fishing port past, Cala Molins (Cove of the Windmills) in reference to the Hotel Molins, one of the first in the area, built on its side, and Cal Carbó, on the far end (meaning Cove of Coal) possibly in reference to a coal bunker, though this is merely a guess). Then there is a fourth cove, called Cala Clara (meaning Cove of clear water) which it really is, and you will find this little beach tucked into the side of the Hotel Don Pedro, also one of the originals.

Each of the calas is different and unique, some tiny, some rocky, and all share the aquamarine waters, washed clean by the north and the incredibly light that comes from this particular combination of crystal clear water, local "posidonia" algae that keeps this little corner of the Mediterranean Sea so wonderfully clear, and rich vegetation.
